Services are delivered by appointment only and provided in a professional, respectful, and confidential environment.
Carlton Specialists is not a hospital, emergency department, or crisis service, and does not provide inpatient care.
A valid referral from a GP or specialist is required to access psychiatric & gastroenterology services and Medicare rebates.
It is your responsibility to ensure your referral is current and addressed correctly.
Appointments are scheduled in advance and allocated for a specific duration.

The appropriate appointment length is determined clinically.
All services at Carlton Specialists are provided on a private fee-paying basis.
If your appointment is booked through Healthengine, or you have provided card details via Healthengine, you authorise Carlton Specialists to securely process your consultation fees using Stripe, the payment platform integrated with Healthengine.
Stripe transaction fees apply to online payments. A surcharge of 1.70% + $0.30 per transaction will be added to cover processing costs.
Where applicable, Medicare rebates are subject to eligibility and the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS).
Medicare rebates are processed on your behalf where applicable.
If we are unable to process your rebate due to an error or Medicare system issue, it becomes the patient’s responsibility to submit the claim directly to Medicare.
Some services (such as gastroenterology procedures) may be eligible for private health insurance rebates.
It is your responsibility to confirm eligibility and rebate entitlements directly with your private health insurer.
Some appointments may require a deposit at the time of booking. Any applicable deposit amount will be communicated when your appointment is scheduled.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of an appointment, or failure to attend, may incur a fee of 50% of the consultation fee.
For Monday appointments, cancellations must be made by close of business on the preceding Friday.
Where possible, cancellation fees may be waived if the appointment is successfully offered to another patient.
Deposits for initial consultations may be refunded if cancellation occurs with at least 24 hours’ notice.
Refunds are not available for late cancellations or non-attendance.
Telehealth consultations are conducted using Doxy.me, a third-party video platform.
By booking a telehealth appointment, you acknowledge that:
Telehealth may not be appropriate for all clinical situations. Alternative arrangements may be recommended where necessary.
Telehealth consultations require upfront payment at the time of booking.

Appointment reminders are provided as a courtesy only. If you opt out of electronic communications, it is your responsibility to record and remember your appointment details.
Carlton Specialists uses Heidi AI clinical scribe software to assist with clinical documentation during consultations.
Carlton Specialists does not provide emergency, crisis mental health services or urgent medical services.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, mental health crisis or are at risk of harm, you must seek immediate assistance via emergency services or appropriate crisis support services.
